The Hatcher Pass Baptist Association is a family of autonomous churches, working together to accomplish the Great Commission and the Great Commandment. Cooperatively we strive to plant, promote and develop strong, disciple-making, mission-minded churches. To accomplish those tasks together we must encourage church leadership, equip Christian leaders, and inspire cooperation among God’s people.
1. Our association is Discipleship focused when churches have a Discipleship commitment (…go and make disciples..Matt.28 :19). We understand that the church must make disciples that evangelize, minister, fellowship, pray and worship. Hatcher Pass Baptist Association is committed to assisting leaders to produce disciples and thus ‘laborers for the harvest’ through training, consultation and coaching.
2. Our association is Kingdom focused when our churches have a Kingdom commitment. “But he said, ‘I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent.’ Luke 4:43”. The Hatcher Pass Baptist Association strives to empower this focus and consistently encourages each church to minister alongside other like-minded churches. Working together, we desire to assist churches to move beyond their walls through church planting efforts and cooperative outreach evangelism projects within the Mat-Su Valley and across Alaska.
3. Our association is Act 1:8 focused when our churches have an Acts 1:8 commitment. Blessings abound for both those being served and those who are serving when churches are Acts 1:8 focused (…and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth). The Hatcher Pass Baptist Association desires to assist churches in accomplishing every aspect of the Great Commission, including assisting with international mission trip efforts.
4. Our association must be relevant to our church members. Relevancy is a critical issue for us as we promote our work together. If the Association is seen as essential and beneficial to the local church, then the church should generously contribute towards Associational work. We deeply appreciate your affirmation, your ongoing gifts to the work of the Hatcher Pass Baptist Association and your contributions to the Associational Missions offering for Summer Ministries 2011.
Thanks for being in a cooperative relationship with churches across South Central Alaska.
